Solid Engineering - Excellent Style

I have 30 years of engineering and design experience in the automotive industry and do all my own design, engineering and CAD.
Engineering and Design:
Quality and Attention to Detail:
Tight tolerances, common sense details, excellent looks, and quality materials. All built in to every MotorCity MachineWorks part.
Welcome To MotorCity MachineWorks. MCMW came to be as the result of my purchase of a new Progression 22. I ordered the boat un-rigged and as a design engineer by trade I made a lot parts for it.
While waiting for Progression to work their magic, I spent many hours shopping for parts and felt the style, engineering, and/or quality of parts currently on the market were somewhat lacking. Not in all cases, but in many.
Take for instance battery trays, there are plenty of them on the market and they are either extremely cheap aluminum with inadequate fasteners, or higher quality trays that don't seem to be well thought out from an engineering standpoint. (for example: tops that are too close to the battery posts or uprights that spin when you tighten them)
The MCMW battery tray solves these problems. It has a patent pending locking lug on the upright that prevents it from spinning when the bottom screw is tightened. This gives you the confidence that the battery top will stay tight, and makes removal of the battery much easier because the upright won't spin.
It is also over built with 0.75" diameter uprights, a 0.50" thick top plate, and multiple mounting holes that are not visible with the battery in place for a cleaner installation.
Our rigging tube bezels are also something you don't see every day. Why get stuck with an OEM plastic bezel or an aluminum one that has zero style? That is why I made them; I didn't want plastic or plain.
Transom brackets? Many are poor quality, thin cast aluminum. There is one set where the upper and lower brackets aren't even the same design. The MCMW brackets are 0.50" thick, machined from a bar of 6061 aluminum and look amazing.
Coming soon are more designs of the parts already on the site as well as cleats, shifters, and a few other cool products. Stay tuned!!
All MotorCity MachineWorks parts are protected by either design or utility patents, and that sometimes leads to delays as products aren't launched until the patent process is underway.
About Us:
All of the boats shown on this website are, or were, mine. As a lifelong boater I know how hard it is to find high quality, well designed parts for your boat.
Currently I am restoring a 1968 Hustler Wildcat 14. Past boats include Donzis, Formulas, Checkmates, Regals, and the odd assortment of jetskis.
